“A beautiful place at night for it is full of electric lights.”
I first loved Luna through the eyes of Lourene. She sent this note to Melvin Howard of York, PA on July 31st, 1907. In my mind she penned these words immediately after leaving the park, still vibrating from the heat and wonder of a thousand electric bulbs. I hope he visited her.

"This is the largest and best park around here"

"Their was a crowd of 6 of us out to Luna Park last night. Had a very pleasant time. Very sorry to receive your card that you could not be with us."

"If you come in this summer we will take a ride on this."

"Hello Frank! How does this look to you?"

"You will remember this place."

"This park is about three or three and one half miles from home."

"Would you go along with me"

"...looks real decent as far as illumination is concerned"

"This is the park where the women was killed by a lion this summer. Glad I wasn't there at that time."

"I was at this park last night"

"These places are no good."

"What do you know about this? Do you recognize this place?"

"This is where the crowd goes for the pleasure. There was 16,000 here last night. I only stayed 1 1/2 hours. I wish you could see it."

"...we are all happy and having a good time"

"...this is a dirty old place."

"How does this look to you?"

"This would be a nice place to show your German friend around."

"Good illustration of our near like Coney's Luna. Good imitation but have to stretch the imagination after seeing the real thing."

"A beautiful place at night for it is full of electric lights."

"This park is near our place. I wish you were here to go with us."

"Having a fine time"

"Does this look natural dear?"

"This is a beautiful morning. We have certainly had very fine weather. The Exposition opened last night - it certainly looks nice this year. Will see you soon. Evelyn"

"This is the Park Mr. Keith (?) & I love so much. Beautiful."

From the blurb on the back: "Ingersoll's Luna Park. The hub of pleasure-loving Pittsburgh, during the summer season, is the great band stand at Ingersoll's Luna Park, where all the most notable military and concert bands of the United States succeed one another in giving series of open air concerts. The big band stand and its surrounding structures are all finished in white, and are brilliantly outlined at night by means of electric lights."

"This is a place to go for a good time. Harry"

"Can you recognize me in this crowd?" Guess you had a dandy trip. Am having the time of my life at present."

"I regret you were not with me last evening. Ice cream "cones" galore. Fine music. Cloyd"

"Abram you aught to see this park after night there is a million electric lights in it. It is surely a very grand place. Well this is all hoping to hear from you soon. I received your cards and many thanks. And was very sorry you had the tooth ache."

"This is a very grand place. After night it is all electric lights."

"For you, honey, in the good old summertime, 'smells'"

"This beats the lagoon."

"We are having a fine time in Pitts. Pearl"

"Hello Salli: Spending the day here"

"Don't you wish you were here? I think your mean for not coming down when we wrote for you."

"Come and see this. Belle"

"This is the entrance to one of our best parks and a very nice place to spend the warm evenings..."

"Am taking in the sights"

"A place for a good time, especially when shooting the chutes. It is dandy fine."

"...where we like to spend our evenings"

"How would you like to take a ride here?"

"We are going to send you home a 100-lb girl. We will visit this park Saturday night."

"This park was closed when the boys were here. I think it went under. You know what that means? Too much expense."

"This is a picture of a pleasure ground I visited last summer. This picture is taken from the schute-the-schute."

"Hello 'Roly,' this reminds you somewhat of Coney Island, doesn't it?"
